Edmund Optics Imaging Lab 3.6: Dome Lights

Dome Lights provide diffuse illumination, and are ideal for illuminating curved surfaces with high topography. Gregory Hollows, Director of Machine Vision Solutions, uses a real-world example of a soda can to illustrate how using a curved lighting geometry on a curved surface creates a flat illumination profile, thereby allowing one to view the text on the bottom of a soda can.
